Youth Competitive Program Overview
The Matmen Wrestling Club offers a youth competitive wrestling program for kids ages 7 to 12 years old. The youth competitive program prepares athletes to compete in formal wrestling competitions. Athletes will train along side senior athletes developing intermediate and advanced wrestling skills in a safe and encouraging environment. The program is lead by experienced and nationally certified coaches.
Matmen Wrestling Club has a long history of success, developing numerous individual champions and capturing several provincial and national team titles.
The competitive program runs year-round September to August, with youth competitions occurring between December and May each year. The club continues training throughout the off-season, allowing for additional training and athlete development, giving Matmen athletes a competitive edge over other clubs.
Athletes aged 7-12 interested in registering for the youth competitive program must either:
1) Have successfully completed the first two levels of the Recreation Program (Yellow and Orange)
